CP Vietnam Headquarters Landscaping Project is envisioned as a dynamic extension of the office environment, located in Dong Nai—a rapidly developing industrial region. This project responds to pressing challenges related to environmental sustainability and employee well-being by offering a thoughtfully curated network of outdoor spaces that promote relaxation, social interaction, and a closer connection to nature.
To mitigate the site’s industrial context and enhance the daily experience of workers, the design integrates mature trees and existing features—most notably, a central koi pond, a key element of company tradition. Revered in Asian culture as symbols of perseverance and prosperity, the koi fish become a focal point for annual gatherings, where employees and guests come together to feed the fish, reinforcing community bonds and a tranquil atmosphere.
A key aspect of the project is ecological enhancement through the use of native and adaptive plant species, which reduce maintenance needs while attracting biodiversity, especially birds. This ecological strategy contributes to thermal comfort, essential in a climate with intense heat and humidity. The landscape is designed to be visually and physically integrated with the building. From nearly every interior vantage point, outdoor areas are visible—ranging from shaded parks that provide respite during peak heat, to rooftop terraces that frame evening skies. The overall composition fosters a smooth transition from the urban solidity of the building to the permeable, natural edges of the site.
Three main landscape zones structure the site:
-
Nature Park – A looped path for walking, exercise, and relaxation, punctuated by culturally resonant hammocks.
-
Retreat Space – A transitional zone for informal gatherings, highlighted by a grandstand and the koi pond, with shaded seating under a mature canopy.
-
Diagonal Public Spine – A green connective element climbing from the arrival plaza to the rooftop, hosting a variety of uses including informal lounges, game zones, barbecue areas, an outdoor cinema, and community gardens.
The arrival plaza features mobile benches and planters, allowing flexible configurations for everyday activities and formal events. At the top, the rooftop offers edible gardens, event spaces, and a sunset deck designed for after-work relaxation.
Altogether, the landscape strategy at CP Vietnam Headquarters redefines how industrial office environments can merge functionality, ecological consciousness, and human-centered design. It sets new standards for how landscapes can support workplace wellness and sustainable urban growth.
