Julia Nevarez

Julia Nevarez currently works as the Sociology Coordinator, Kean University. Her research focuses on urban theory, development, public space, and technoculture adopting interdisciplinary perspectives. In 2009 she edited the book “On Global Grounds: Urban Change and Globalization” with Gabriel Moser looking at the effect of globalization and urban development. Most of her work utilizes content analysis, interviews, and archival research. Her latest book is entitled “Governing Disaster in Urban Environments: Climate Change Preparation and Adaption after Hurricane Sandy” (Lexington Publishers, Rowman and Littlefield). Currently she is working on a book entitled: “The Urban Library: Public Space and Urban Development.”
