peris+toral.arquitectes is a practice based in Barcelona that combines professional and academic activity. The firm is currently working on a variety of projects, including housing and public space; its founders are also teachers at the Barcelona School of Architecture (ETSAB) and the IED.
The studio was founded in 2005 by Marta Peris and José Manuel Toral, who both graduated from the ETSAB. Their projects have been published nationally and internationally and exhibited at the UIA Tokyo in 2011, the Paris Cité de l’Architecture et du Patrimoine in 2009, and the Venice Architecture Biennale in 2000.
From the theoretical point of view, the firm has published a number of articles about housing in books and magazines, including Arquitectura COAM, Editorial Fundamentos, and DC Papers.
Their work has been recognized by several awards: the AJAC Joves Arquitectes award in 2011; finalist for the FAD awards in 2009; finalist for the Saloni awards in 2009; the UIA award in 1996; a Construmat mention award in 2015; and the COAVN award, among others.
