OBRA Architects

In every project, Obra Architects channels the divided condition of the architecture of the city. This invariable of Obra’s work, the constant presence of an implicit city, inhabits the typological mutations that propel forward their disciplinary project. In some sense “oblivious” to location, this civic longing runs through every proposal like a high-voltage current charged by the nostalgia of architecture. With the spectacle of the city dissolving into procedural regulations and an administrative “common” sense, Obra’s work quietly proposes an experiment: trying to weave into the built world, our “artificial fatherland,” the two basic desires for inhabited space: a craving for community and a love for solitude—the two poles that architecture spans across to realize the scene of our emotional longing.
