Lluís Ortega

Lluís Ortega, architect, researcher, educator. Associate Professor at the Illinois Institute of Technology, Visiting Professor at the Universidad Torcuato Di Tella, former Assistant Professor at University of Illinois at Chicago, has previously taught at the ETSAB, the Universidad de Alicante, the Harvard University Graduate School of Design, and the Akademie der bildenden Künste. Co-founder of F451arquitectura in 2000, rebranded as Sio2arch in 2014, an internationally awarded and exhibited collaborative practice with Santiago Ibarra, Xavier Osarte, and Esther Segura. Former director of Quaderns d’Arquitectura i Urbanisme, editor of 2G magazine n. 14 on FOA, co-editor of Josep Llinàs’s writings Saques de esquina and of Platform GSD 2008, author of the reader La digitalización toma el mando (Digitalization Takes Command), adjunct curator and main designer of the Spanish Pavilion at the Venice Architecture Biennale 2014, co-author of the upcoming book Suprarural, to be published by Actar.
