Urban Defects

Urban Defects by Volker Heinze

These images equally reflect equally the utopias of modernity andas the optimization of spatial economics of the neo-liberal age as a perversion. In these terms, every tiny space will be dictated by its values for income.

Urban defects are digitally constructed cityscapes intended order to create a visual metaphor of a megalopolis. They are based on photographs of real cities, but are totally composed in order to revise the architectural density and their visible signs of use. These images are created as type-c-prints with a size of 120 x 150 cm.
Urban defects #2, #5 and #7 are published in a book form, using a typical atlas design, in order to show the images and every rich detail at the original scale.
