At La Biennale di Venezia 2018, PLANE—SITE and archipinion spoke with the curators of the German Pavilion: Marianne Birthler, Lars Krückeberg, Wolfram Putz and Thomas Willemeit of GRAFT. Taking the theme of ‘Unbuilding Walls’, this year’s pavilion starts with the idea that a wall is more than just a dividing line — they also shape psychic boundaries within society. How, the curators ask, can such walls be deconstructed?
