He has served as curator of cultural activities for the General Subsection for Architecture under the Ministry of Public Works, for ETSAM, and for the Cervantes Institute between 1999 and 2002. In 2003, he was a founding partner at the Nolaster Oficina de Arquitectura in Madrid, where he pursued his professional activity until 2007. In early 2005, he established FRPO Rodríguez & Oriol Architecture Landscape together with Fernando Rodríguez. They have received the Design Vanguard 2012 Award and the Europe 40 UNDER 40 Award (2009). Their work has also been selected for the 9th Spanish Architecture and Urbanism Biennial (2007), the 9th Exhibition of Young Spanish Architects (2006), the Bauwelt Award 2007 and the Wallpaper Design Awards 2007. Along with Lina Toro and Fernando Rodriguez, he is the co-director of the Undergraduate Thesis Project at IE University and is associate professor of Architectural Design at ETSAM. He has also been a professor of Design Thinking in the Launch Program for the MBA at IE Business School and is involved in the research project “Beyond Tourism,” writing articles and editing books, such as The Infrastructural Beach.
