Kathrin Golda-Pongratz is an architect, urban researcher and photographer with a PhD in urban planning from Karlsruhe University, and lecturer at UIC Barcelona School of Architecture. She is professor of international urbanism at the University of Applied Sciences in Frankfurt am Main/ Germany, visiting professor at the Universidad Nacional de Ingeniería in Lima/ Peru and lectures at La Salle School of Architecture and Universitat Internacional de Catalunya in Barcelona. She has lectured, published and conducted workshops internationally. Her research focuses on urbanization processes and migration, Latin American urbanism, informal urbanism, housing policies, urban renewal and place making strategies, public space and urban memory. She is a member of the expert board of the Prize for European Public Space, of Deutscher Werkbund and of the Academy of Europe.
