Karina Castro

Portuguese visual researcher and photographer based in Milan, Italy.
Her photographs are focused on the territory socio-political issues and architecture, prompting a dialogue about the territory in which we are living.
After photography studies and gaining extensive experience as photographer assistant, started working as a professional photographer collaborating with architects and publishers.
Her works visually analyze space and have been published in different books and magazines as RIBA Journal, Cultural Bulletin, Domus, Interni Magazine, Icarus Complex magazine, amongst others.
In 2017 documented at La Biennale di Venezia the art section Pavilion of Portugal, organized by Direção-Geral das Artes.
In 2018 the research on Monte Amiata Housing by Carlo Aymonino and Aldo Rossi was published as a book by Divisare Books.
In 2019 she was selected by ArchDaily and ElleDecor in the list of 12 women professional photographers whose work is essential to communicate space and architecture representation.
In 2020 completed the research Human Domination on Earth which led the ‘PV Floating Technology’ image exhibited at the Science and Industry museum in Manchester, UK.
