Joshua Dawson

Joshua Ashish Dawson is an Indian born Los Angles based Architectural Designer and World Builder. He received a Masters in Advanced Architectural Studies with honors from the University of Southern California where he was the recipient of the S. Kenneth Johnson Memorial Scholarship and a Gesundheit traveling fellow.

As part of his graduate study he worked as a designer and researcher under Hollywood Production Designer Alex McDowell, RDI (Fight Club, Minority Report, Man of Steel) at 5D Global Studio. At USC he was also the Dean’s Graduate Research Scholar and his Master’s thesis project was advised by McDowell, Wes Jones and Golden Globe nominated filmmaker Shekhar Kapur.

Joshua first received national recognition through reputed architectural publications at the age of 18 for his project titled the ‘Bamboo Habitat’ and has since been widely published and exhibited. As an an undergraduate student he trained directly under famed Indian Architect Balkrishna Doshi on the extension to Le Corbusier’s Villa Shodhan.

His recent work explores the space between architecture and speculative design fiction by re-imagining the built environment through interdisciplinary design thinking and Narrative Visualization.
