Fernando Pérez Oyarzun is a full professor and head of the PhD program in Architecture and Urban Studies at the Faculty of Architecture, Design and Urban Studies of the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile. He has been a teacher since 1974 in the areas of studio courses and Theory and History of Architecture. He is the author or coauthor of 7 books tied to the theory and history of architecture and urban design. Numerous other articles or book chapters have been published under his name in Chile and abroad. He has served as Visiting Design Critic at Harvard University, as Simón Bolívar Professor at Cambridge University, and as a Fellow with the Swedish Collegium for Advanced Study (SCAS) in Uppsala. He has served as a professor or given lectures in several other Chilean or international universities. In parallel to his academic activity, he has worked individually as an architect and in conjunction with other professionals.
