Diana Herrera Luque, holds a degree in architecture from the Pontifical Xavierian University of Bogotá (2002) and a Master’s degree in Urban-Regional Studies from the National University of Colombia (UNAL) at Medellin (2006), where she was also a professor for different design workshops from 2003 to 2005 through the academic training program.
She acted as a consultant in design and coordination of projects in architecture and public space for the Municipality of Medellín from 2006 to 2011, and for a number of independent architectural firms.
She was special projects architect for the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure of the government of Antioquia from 2012 to 2013, where she was project manager for the municipality of Vigia del Fuerte, among others.
Her work has been recognized with the National Award for Architecture Fernando Martinez Sanabria from the Colombian Society of Architects in 2014; the National Architecture Award that same year; and the first international mention in the 2014 Quito Pan-American Biennial. In 2015, the Educational Park in Vigia del Fuerte was recognized for its design with the Lápiz de Acero Award and the Lápiz de Acero Azul Award. Finally, in 2016 the project was recognized at the Iberoamerican Biennial of Architecture and Urbanism / X BIAU.
Diana Herrera Duque has served as a consultant for the Urban Development, Planning, Architecture, Public Space and Coordination on the 2014-2015 Medellín River Park project, for LATITUDE / Workshop on Architecture and the City.
She is a consultant in architecture and urbanism and a project manager. She is currently working in her own studio, designing la Velocidad de la Escala 1:1 [Speed of the 1:1 Scale].
