Canales & Lombardero is an office of architecture and urbanism founded by Francisco González de Canales and Nuria Álvarez Lombardero in 2003. The office is based in London (UK) and Seville (Spain). Both founders are PhDs in architecture and teach at the Architectural Association (AA). In 2009 they started the academic initiative called Politics of Fabrication. Francisco studied architecture at ESTA Seville, ETSA Barcelona and Harvard GSD. He is a professor at the University of Seville. He has collaborated intensively on architectural publications and curated exhibitions at the Architectural Association as AACP coordinator (AA curatorial practices/cultural products, 2008-2012). Among his recent books are Experiment with Life Itself (2013), First Works (with B. Steele) and Rafael Moneo: Building, Teaching, Writing (with N. Ray). Nuria studied architecture at ESTA Madrid. She has taught at the University of Cambridge and the University of Seville. She has done research at Harvard GSD, the University of Cambridge, and the Architectural Association; her research at the AA was funded by the Talentia Grant. She has published various articles and collaborated on Neutra and La Ciudad Vivamagazines. Her book ArchitectAs: Redefining the Profession (2015) received an award from the Spanish Biennale of Architecture 2016.
