The historic center of Trujillo is known for its elegant colonial architecture rendered in alternating primary colors featuring elaborate porticos and enclosed wooden balconies. Contemporary buildings mix into the streetscape with their modern palette of pastels and fluorescents highlighting modernist shapes and cantilevered structures. Ultimately, both styles blend together in a kaleidoscope of small-scale, civic-minded buildings that saturate these fifty small blocks encircled by the Avenida España.
