Labor Force in Africa
Edgar Pieterse
The labor force in Africa is expected to triple between 2000-2050; rising from 400m to 1.2bn over the period.
Currently, the 63% is in vulnerable jobs, and 23% in stable wage-earning positions. If these proportions don’t change substantially, slum urbanism will be the dominant mode of urbanisation.
