The Grand Auditorium of Centro Cultural de Belém [CCB] was filled to hear the presentation of the Ellen van Loon in the lecture Distância Crítica, an initiative of The Lisbon Architecture Triennale co-produced with the CCB sponsored by Jofebar.

Since 1998 the Dutch architect, along with Rem Koolhaas is one of the pillars of the award-winning studio OMA, author of Casa da Música (Award RIBA 2007) – reference work of Jofebar – made known the various projects developed along its route as well as the method and processes “that characterize it as creative and make your job one of the world references of sophistication in architecture, design and urbanism.” Several projects developed were awarded is characterized by combining sophistication and complex technical implementation. Examples are the Rothschild Bank headquarters, the Maggie’s Centre near Glasgow and the Dutch Embassy in Berlin (winner Mies van der Rohe 2005). Is currently working on a multimedia library project in France, the Danish Architecture Centre in Copenhagen, and recently, the building of the Prada Foundation in Milan. This initiative belongs to a cycle of conferences with world figures of contemporary architecture and it aims to stimulate the debate on the practice of architecture.
