This document presents an overview of FARI – AI for the Common Good Institute Brussels, a non-profit initiative founded by VUB and ULB. It outlines the institute’s mission to promote sustainable and trustworthy applications of AI, data, and robotics across public and urban domains such as health, mobility, climate, and inclusive society. The report highlights FARI’s interdisciplinary research, partnerships with public administrations, industry, and citizens, and its facilities, including the Test and Experience Center and Belgium’s largest immersive CAVE. It also introduces flagship European projects—such as CitCom.ai, DIGISET, LIBRA.I., MultiRoofs, ALGO-LIT, AI4GOV-X, and RADAR-AIM—showcasing how FARI integrates innovation, ethics, and citizen engagement in shaping technology for social benefit.
