Sam architecture was initiated in 2004 by a collaboration between Stefan Matthys and Boris Schneider.
The agency was created in 2007 and has been led by Boris Schneider since 2009. The French and German architect is anchored in the pluralist European culture. He has worked with Mario Bellini, Jean Nouvel, Francis Soler, Renzo Piano and Paul Andreu.
Sam architecture now concentrates mainly on public facilities and social housing projects. They sometimes also work for the tertiary sector or in residential areas.
Over the years, the agency has gathered knowledge and experience about school architecture. Today, they lead a theoretical and practical research on how education spaces are evolving, along with the teaching programs.
