Javier Corvalan is a Paraguayan architect with Laboratorio de Arquitectura. The studio was founded in 2005 based on the conviction that better architecture is possible. Over the years, the architects have captured this idea in their designs and built work. Placing emphasis on material and structural design, Corvalán also recognizes the importance of collective work in his experimentation. This led to the creation of a non-profit civil association as a result of the experience of designing and building the Paraguay Pavilion for the Venice Biennale: Aqua Alta.
